Actually the changing of music in bands is one reason why people wouldn't like them anymore... and it is a valid excuse. For instance if the lead vocalist changes and has a completely different sound then the old vocalist then one might not like the new sound that the new voicalist brings... the same goes for other memebers of a band.... It will either get better, worse, or at the off chance they might sound the same. And since band memebers change all the time in bands peoples disliking is bound to happen.

meh... it happens... Like with tristania I loved their old female vocalist but she moved on did other things with her life... now the new female singer for the band I think she sucks so bad. I won't even listen to the new tristania.
